Deconstructing Humor: Why We Laugh – April 1

What makes something funny? On April 1 at 7 p.m. in Room 2053 of the Alvin Sherman Library, three NSU faculty members will discuss humor in the context of their disciplines.

The program, co-sponsored by the Paul Joseph Symposia and the Faculty Advisory Council Symposia, will feature Professor Bob Jarvis of the Shepard Broad Law Center, Professor Bob Preziosi of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, and Professor Eric Mason of the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences. Each will show a clip from a film or television show and then discuss why the clips make us laugh. A question-and-answer session will follow.

Both sponsoring groups present programs featuring NSU faculty members discussing issues of particular interest to them. This is the first time they have co-sponsored a symposium. Refreshments will be served. Attendance is open to all members of the NSU community and their friends.
