Oceanographic Center Dean Presents on Coral Reefs and Effects of Climate Change

Richard Dodge, Ph.D., NSU Oceanographic Center dean and executive director of the National Coral Reef Institute, was an invited presenter on a panel entitled “Coral Reefs in 2050.” The panel was organized to commemorate the International Year of the Reef 2008.

The panel was held on Tuesday, Feb. 26, as part of the 64th meeting of the Ocean Studies Board of the National Academies in Washington, D.C., and was open to the public. Dodge presented on Effects of Climate Change on Coral Reefs and Predictions for the Year 2050. Other panel members included Dr. Bob Richmond, Co PI Hawaii Coral Reef Initiative, and Maria Hatziolos, senior coastal and marine specialist, Environmental Department, The World Bank.
