Building upon its already outstanding reputation for pharmacy education, NSU’s College of Pharmacy (COP) is poised to advance to the frontlines of global health care, joining the world’s top multi-disciplinary health organizations and professionals and enhancing its academic programs, research, services to the community, and commitment to advancing patient care. In support of the college’s strategic plan, including its goal to establish international partnerships recognized for their excellence in educational programs and for opportunities to participate in collaborative study, research, and scholarship, COP entered an understanding agreement with Kaohsiung Medical University’s (KMU) College of Pharmacy in Taiwan.

This international collaborative exchange will benefit and contribute to inter-institutional linkages for educational cooperation and assistance at each university for:
-- Faculty exchange for teaching by developing workshops and institutes;
-- Student exchange to visit and/or enroll in academic programs, and other student activities;
-- Collaborative research, including joint hosting of seminars, conferences, workshops, and other activities such as sabbaticals
-- Library services to support and strengthen academic cooperation through library services among the academic units.

COP recognizes the importance of an international presence and collaboration that improves students’ understanding of diversity in pharmacy practices and knowledge of cross-cultural health care among different ethnic populations.  The collaboration of the COP with KMU will contribute to strengthening the education of students and the attainment of groundbreaking research by scholars at both institutions.
