Fischler School Program to be Honored as 2008 Education Volunteer
Broward Partnership for the Homeless, Inc. (BPHI), has selected the Speech-Language Communications Program (SLCP) at NSU’s Fischler School of Education and Human Services as the recipient of the 2008 Education Volunteer Group Award. BPHI has recognized the students, faculty, and staff from the SLCP for conducting specialty donation drives for residents, including: “Be a Soul - Give a Sole” and “Warm a Child and Warm a Heart.” BPHI, in accordance with National Volunteer Recognition month, celebrates and honors those volunteers who have selflessly donated their time, energy, and resources to help the homeless. This year’s theme, “Volunteer to Change the World,” truly reflects the power that volunteers have to inspire the people they help and to motivate others to serve. BPHI will host its Second Annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon on Tuesday, May 20.
