University School Hosts Bingo Night
“Bingo” was the winning word that Jesse Miot shouted after placing the final chip that completed a letter “U” on his game card, but the cash prizes were only part of the evening’s excitement at the University School’s Middle School Bingo Night on Sept. 18, organized by the University Family Organization. Thanks to the efforts of chairwomen Audrey Bell, Marla Carroll, and Denise Miot, along with their parent volunteers, the Dining Commons was transformed into a decorated, food and fun-filled night featuring eight variations of this grid-favorite game. Each Celebrity Caller — faculty and administrators —brought their own style of humor mixed with plenty of bingo stamina to the game. Middle School director Steven Blinder said the evening was very successful and extended his thanks to the chairpersons and parent volunteers who went above and beyond in their efforts to create an exciting evening. “The bingo night focused on the students and having fun,” stated Blinder. “The school spirit, family involvement, and camaraderie between all participants were the perfect precursor for Middle School events in the year ahead.”
