Business School Graduate Named Magazine’s HR Executive of the Year
Bonnie Hathcock, a graduate in 1989 of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship’s master’s of business administration program, was recently honored by Human Resource Executive magazine as its 2007 HR Executive of the Year. Hathcock is senior vice president and chief human resources officer at Humana.
According to the magazine, Hathcock earned the honor for “helping to steer her struggling company toward financial improvement after coming on board eight years ago. By revitalizing her HR department and by implementing initiatives to help curb health-care costs at a time when Humana and other health-care insurers were being blamed for skyrocketing health costs, Hathcock was the force behind significant savings and a new company image.” The HR Executive of the Year award recognizes HR leaders who have made outstanding contributions to their organizations, and who exemplify the increasingly strategic nature of the profession.
