Jones Appointed Associate Vice President of Human Resources
Mark Andrew Jones has been appointed associate Vice President of Human Resources for Nova Southeastern University. Jones begins working with NSU after a long career with the Tribune Company, most recently as vice president and director of human resources for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel newspaper. “We are very pleased that Mr. Jones has accepted this important role at our university,” said NSU President Ray Ferrero, Jr.. “He will bring new thinking to overall human resources strategies in support and advancement of the university’s values and mission.” As NSU’s chief human resources officer, Jones’ responsibilities will include employee recruitment, retention and talent management; wage, salary and benefits administration; training and organizational development; diversity programs; employee relations and conflict resolution. Mr. Jones received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Chicago Law School, where he was the recipient of the Edwin F. Mandel Legal Aid Award. He also holds a Masters of Public Affairs degree (safety concentration) and a Bachelor of Arts (with honors) both from Indiana University. Jones is currently a candidate for a Master of Divinity degree from the Florida Center for Theological Studies. He has been an active member of the South Florida Community. Among his past affiliations, he served on and was a founding member of the Executive Council of the Legal Aid Services of Broward County. Jones has also served on the Board of Directors of Children’s Place at HomeSafe, Inc., the Urban League of Palm Beach County and Broward Partnership for the Homeless. In addition, he is active in the Episcopal Church and Brotherhood of Saint Gregory.
