Former Israeli Prime Minister Barak comes to NSU
Students of the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences met with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak in a private seminar.

The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences’ Division of Humanities recently sponsored a visit by the former Prime Minister of Israel, Ehud Barak. The event was part of the college’s Distinguished Speakers Series, which brings world leaders, renowned scholars, and award-winning authors to the main campus to share their insights and experiences with the NSU community.

The day began with Prime Minister Barak conducting a private seminar with 12 students of the college, in which they asked him candid questions. He was later able to meet with university and community leadership. In the Miniaci Performing Arts Center, Prime Minister Barak spoke to a packed audience, touching on topics of terrorism, Israeli/Palestinian relations, North Korean and Iranian nuclear ambitions, and the future of the Middle East. Prime Minister Barak’s visit brought many facets of the NSU and local community together, as well as provided students with an excellent opportunity to learn more about the history and political issues of the Middle East.
