The unveiling of the Dauer Middle School's newest expansion was commemorated with a ribbon cutting ceremony that also served as a sign of great things to come for NSU’s University School.

University School officials were joined by parents, the Headmaster's Advisory Board, student government officers, NSU officials and representatives from Davie-Cooper City Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the completion of the 12,341 square foot addition. The expansion project is part of the many facility enhancements currently taking place at  University School.

The new addition is comprised of an 880 square foot expansion of the cafeteria and a new east wing of five classrooms, which includes two science labs. All classrooms are equipped with wireless systems and video capability and have state-of-the-art computers and printers, plus multimedia projectors and retractable screens.

The official ribbon cutting took place in the year-round courtyard which will be a covered awning area upon completion. This paved area is the entranceway  to the new Convocation Center, a 4,715 square foot building that will be the venue for both educational and cultural assemblies.
