The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences has announced the Stolzenberg-Doan Family Endowment to support the college’s international studies major. The scholarships may be used for approved tuition, travel, or living expenses in summer trips abroad. To be eligible, applicants must be currently enrolled in a College of Arts and Sciences major, and in study-abroad courses taught or sponsored by College of Arts and Sciences faculty.

The application deadline is March 1.

The college acknowledges the generosity of humanities professor James E. Doan, Ph.D., for this endowment, which is intended to support an annual lecture as well as scholarship opportunities for students.

This endowment is named in memory of Doan’s grandparents, Helen M. Stolzenberg and Joseph J. Stolzenberg, as well as his mother Marilyn J. Doan, to honor their commitment to furthering knowledge of languages, history, and cultures of other nations.

The international studies major is designed for students who wish to pursue an interdisciplinary approach to the global environment and who wish to gain a deeper understanding of a particular region outside of the United States.
