SHSS Doctoral Candidates Go to Washington

Terry Morrow and Teri Williams, both doctoral students in the department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, recently participated in a national conference in Washington D.C. as members of the Peace Alliance, where they became empowered citizens for peace through the campaign for a United States Department of Peace.

The pair spent time learning about the growing campaign, meeting individuals from around the world who value peace, and lobbying our State Representatives on the Hill for a cabinet level Department of Peace that works in collaboration with governmental institutions. Initiating a positive, educational, and domestically driven forum will be the catalyst for change in this country and around the world.
