2007 Nova Educ@ Conference a Success

The Office of International Affairs of the NSU-Fischler School of Education and Human Services (NSU-FSEHS) recently hosted more than 150 educators and administrators from 15 countries in Latin America and Spain during the 2nd Annual Nova Educ@ Conference.

The conference titled, “Beyond the Classroom: New Learning Environments” was held entirely in Spanish for educational leaders across the globe and was designed to serve as a venue to share their knowledge and professional experience in the fields of technology and distance education.

The participants were welcomed to the university by NSU President Ray Ferrero, Jr., and FSEHS Provost H. Wells Singleton, Ph.D., at NSU’s main campus and at the Fischler School of Education and Human Services campus in North Miami Beach.  The program hosted a variety of workshops, roundtable discussions and research sessions, presented by NSU faculty as well as administrators and faculty from Latin America and Spain.

Educators from several universities presented including: Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV); Universidad de Guadalajara, México; Universidad Metropolitana, Venzuela; Universidade de Pais Vasco, España; Universidad Oberta de Catalunya, España; Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina; Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
