Student Organizations Raise More than $5,200 for Charity
Several student organizations recently hosted, “Faith through Fashion: Many Faiths + One Goal = An Amazing Celebration” in the University Center. The event was a huge success and raised $5,216 for the education of the underprivileged in the Philippines. The event, which featured a fashion show, food, free Raffle, vendors and entertainment, was organized by many different student organizations: Catholic LIFE, IMAN (International Muslim Association at NSU), Hillel (Jewish), IVCF (Intervarsity Christian Fellowship), Spiritual Life Council, and SIFE: Students in Free Enterprise. GK ANCOP Foundation, Couples for Christ, and C is for Clothing.com were participating community partners. According to organizer, Ish Aberion, the groups’ shared goal was to “foster better social consciousness and respect for human dignity by sharing what we have with those depressed by marginalized subsistence; to promote religious tolerance and understanding among the diverse faiths; and to HAVE FUN!”.
