Fischler School establishes new instructional site in Puerto Rico

A group of 30 students from Puerto Rico recently entered their doctoral program in education with a concentration in Instructional Technology and Distance Education (ITDE) at the Fischler School of Education and Human Services.

The program is offered in Spanish in a cluster format, with courses delivered in a blended instructional model, combining face-to-face meetings in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, with online instruction utilizing WebCT and Elluminate. Classes are offered in Puerto Rico at the Universidad del Este in Carolina (San Juan) through a partnership agreement with FSEHS. The program is approved by the Consejo de Educación Superior (Higher Education Council) of Puerto Rico.

A second cluster is planned for January 2007.
