Law Center looking to Expand Dual Degree Program to Rome

The Shepard Broad Law Center announces that dean Joseph Harbaugh, associate dean Bill Adams, and professor Catherine Arcabascio recently met with the Dean and several law faculty members of Roma Tre University in Rome, Italy to discuss Roma Tre’s participation in NSU Law School’s Venice-Rome dual degree program. NSU currently has a dual degree program with Ca Foscari University in Venice, Italy, and University of Barcelona in Spain.

The discussions with the Roma Tre representatives were very positive and the parties have begun the process of reviewing each institution’s law curriculum to determine which credits can be co-validated and which classes should be included in the core curriculum of the program.  The anticipated start date for the Venice-Rome Dual Degree program is February, 2007.

Roma Tre is home to one of the finest law schools in Italy. In Italy’s 2005 Census survey, Roma Tre law school was ranked first among law schools in Rome. In 2006, the Roma Tre law school was ranked third among the twenty mid-sized law schools in the country by Italy’s National Committee on Research Evaluation.

Professor Catherine Arcabascio has agreed to be the Academic Director of the Dual Degree Program with Ca’ Foscari and Roma Tre, and professor Leslie Cooney has agreed to be the Academic Director for the Exchange Program with Charles University, Prague.
