The H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business & Entrepreneurship recently hosted Carl N. Singer, chairman of Viragen, Inc., as a guest speaker for the Distinguished Lecture Series.

Singer has served on the Board of Directors for 31 companies, including Sealy, Inc., Scripto, Inc. and the B.V.D. Company, and specializes in fixing “sick companies.” In his second visit to NSU as a guest speaker, he discussed his business philosophies and shared a wealth of experience from leading some of America’s largest corporations.

He also talked about identifying signs of a troubled company and problems associated with the improper use of assets, and explained the changing landscape of business, globalization and its impact.  Lastly, Singer reminded the audience that there is no substitute for good judgment, common sense and hard work.  He quotes his wife as saying, “You’ve just got to work at it.”
