2005 Public Safety Award of Merit Ceremony

The Office of Public Safety recently hosted its annual Public Safety Ben Tallarico Award of Merit Ceremony in recognition of those who have exemplified professionalism and who have put the needs of others above their own. The Ben Tallarico Award of Merit is named in honor of NSU’s late public safety officer.

Public Safety Officer David Neely received the department's highest honor - the Ben Tallarico Award of Merit. Public Safety Operations Coordinator Melissa Davis received the John Yessman Service Award, named in honor of the late public safety officer John Yessman, and Coordinator Ian Vincent was the recipient of the Public Safety Coordinator of the Year Award. Additionally, NSU President Ray Ferrero, Jr., and George L. Hanbury II, Executive Vice for Administration received special Public Safety “Gold Shields” from Safety Compliance Manager Jim Ewing and University Locksmith Jimmy Ricci.

Awards and recipients included:

• Public Safety Business Partner of the Year – Stanley Security Solutions

• Public Safety Team Players of the Year –  Director of Housing- Anthony DeSantis, (Office of Residential Life); Human Resources Manager- Maria Pinto, (Office Of Human Resources), Payroll Manager-Linda Trosper, (Payroll Department), Senior Telecommunications Engineer- Stu Waller, (Office of Telecommunications).
