NSU College of Dental Medicine faculty members Drs. Peter E. Murray and Franklin Garcia-Godoy recently presented their research about stem cell therapies at the Stem Cells, Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine 24th Scientific Conference held in Cancun, Mexico.

The conference was hosted by the Society for Physical Regulation in Biology and Medicine, and sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Drs. Franklin Garcia-Godoy and Peter Murray have brought over $2.5 million in research funding to NSU during the past two years.  Dr. Garcia-Godoy is currently HPD featured 'Researcher of the Month' and his research projects are displayed in the HPD library.

The scientific presentation by the NSU researchers was entitled, "Investigation of the in vitro molecular regulation of pulp stem cell chemotaxis."  It explained their efforts to control stem cell activity to develop new tissue engineering therapies for use in dentistry and medicine.

The Cancun conference offered a valuable international showcase to present NSU research to leading researchers in the stem cell and tissue engineering field.
