“Passport to Information Day”- Oct. 19
Millions of reliable documents at your fingertips
FORT LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, FL— Nova Southeastern University’s Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center (LRITC) presents “Passport to Information Day,” an event dedicated to educating the public on how to access research databases for personal and professional use. The event, which is open to the community, will be held October 19, from noon-6 p.m, in the LRITC Atrium, at 3100 Ray Ferrero Jr. Boulevard.
“This day is centered on educating the public on how to use databases to access e-reference resources, abstract indexes, peer reviewed articles, investor information, FCAT and other standardized practice tests, and thousands of other documents,” boasts Lia Hemphill, Head of Collection Development. “In addition, attendees will have opportunities to win great prizes.”
Demonstrations on utilizing the millions of reliable sources and documents provided by the library will be presented by various database vendors including, Cambridge Scientific Abstracts, Greenwood Publishers, HW Wilson, Proquest, RR Bowker, Thomson Gale, Westlaw–LivEdgar, Wiley InterScience, and World Book Encyclopedia. Also, FREE prizes including iPods, MP3 players, books, and other merchandise will be raffled out during the duration of the event.
