Free Children's Programs at NSU's Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL—Free programs for children and families are offered each week at the Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center at Nova Southeastern University (NSU). The library is a joint-use facility with the Broward County Board of County Commissioners. Free card membership allows patrons access to public library collections and programs as well as exclusive university academic resources.

Upcoming children's programs include:

  • Sunday, October 26, 2003: 2nd Annual Day of Children: “Safety Days” Games, Food & Fun, all ages, 12:00-4:00 p.m. Come discover what NSU offers children.
  • Tuesday, October 28: Mother Goose Storytime, infant to 35 months, 10:30 to 10:50 a.m.
  • Wednesday, October 29:
    • Storytime Fun, ages 3 to 5, 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. Tricks n' Treats, costumes optional.
    • Software Storytime, ages 3 to 5 with parent/caregiver, 10:30 to 11:00 a.m.
    • Kids' Club, ages 6 to 11, 3:30-4:00 p.m. Online Publishing for Kids.
  • Thursday, October 30: Family Storytime, all ages, 3:30-4:00 p.m. Slightly Spooky Stories, costumes optional.
Teen program:
  • Saturday, October 25, 2003: Expressing Poetry through Art. Create a collage inspired by a poem. Ages 12 – 18. 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Preregistration required.
Programs for adults:
  • Tuesday, October 28, 2003: MS Word for Intermediates. 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, 28 de Octubre: En Español. Correo Electrónico y Su Uso (How to Use E-mail). 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Para inscribirse, por favor llame al 954-262-5477.
