Hosts An Open House
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - Celebrating 15 years of program excellence,
the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Graduate School of Humanities
and Social Sciences (SHSS) is hosting an Open House on Friday, October
24, 2003 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. This event will be held in the Alumni
Hall Auditorium on NSU’s East Campus, 3100 SW 9th Avenue, Fort
Lauderdale, Florida.
Faculty will be available for both group and one-on-one discussions,
providing guests the opportunity to learn in detail about the variety
of interdisciplinary programs offered at SHSS. The school awards
graduate certificates, master's, and doctoral degrees in conflict
analysis and
resolution, family therapy, cross-disciplinary studies, peace studies,
college student personnel administration, health care conflict resolution,
family systems health care, family studies, and joint programs with
the Criminal Justice Institute and the Shepard Broad Law Center.
SHSS programs address vitally important needs in human relationships,
and offer training in interdisciplinary, multi-professional, and
multi-cultural practices that apply to many fields. The curricula
blend theory, practice,
and research in convenient courses of study available in evening
classes and online formats.
Additionally, two community service centers: Community Resolution Services
and Brief Therapy Institute, are housed at SHSS where many graduate
and post-graduate students complete their practicum training and internships.
SHSS is also home to two academic journals: "Peace and Conflict
Studies," and "The Qualitative Report.”
