University School of Nova Southeastern University Presents "Cinderella"
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL- University School of NSU’s Performing Arts
Department is proud to present Rodgers and Hammerstein's “Cinderella,” performed
by the school’s Middle School students, and directed and choreographed
by the school’s Upper School students as part of University School’s
Mentorship Program. Performances of this timeless classic will take place
November 19, 20 and 21 at 7:30 pm in the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing
Arts Center on NSU’s main campus.
University School’s Mentorship Program enables Upper School students
to act as theater mentors to the school’s Middle School students,
with those acting as mentors conducting all aspects of the production
side, such as choreography, set design, and directing, while the Middle
School students serve as actors. Students in both schools gain valuable
experience in all aspects of theater planning as a result. Faculty supervisor
Nina Zakrzewski oversees the Mentorship Program.
“ The mentorship program is an innovative and extraordinary part
of University School, and every student involved emerges with a little
more confidence and an unbelievable experience in acting, responsibility
and camaraderie,” said Zakrzewski.
The Upper School students also stage their own musical theater production
each spring.
Ticket prices for University School’s production of “Cinderella” are
$20, $15, $12, and $5 (students). For ticket information, please call
