NSU’s Shepard Broad Law Center Hosts 10th Annual Lecture Series
Speakers include Anita Hill and Chief Judge Tacha, US Court of Appeals to discuss Changing Roles of Women in Law

FORT LAUDERDALE – The Shepard Broad Law Center of Nova Southeastern University proudly presents the 10th Annual Lecture Series, the 2006 Leo Goodwin Sr. Chair in Law.  This year’s theme,“Tilting the Scales: the Changing Roles of Women in the Law and Legal Practice,” will address the impact of women on legal theory and the law in the 21st century. 

The Law Center welcomes the following distinguished scholars:

Catharine MacKinnon, Professor of Law at the University of Michigan, Author and Activist
Friday, September 15, 6:00 p.m., Shepard Broad Law Center

Anita Hill, Professor of Law, and Activist
Thursday, October 12, 6 p.m., Carl DeSantis Building

Chief Judge Deanell Reece Tacha, United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit
Monday, November 6, 6:00 p.m., Carl DeSantis Building

Nadine Strossen, President of the American Civil Liberties Union
Monday, November 13, 6:00 p.m., Location to be determined

The annual Goodwin Chair in Law is supported by a gift from the Goodwin Foundation, created to continue the remarkable philanthropy of the late Leo Goodwin, Sr., an entrepreneur and visionary who was committed to the advancement of education and research.  The Goodwin gift provides the NSU Law Faculty the opportunity to invite eminent scholars and leaders to visit the Law Center to explore a contemporary topic in an unparalleled way.  Attorneys attending the events will also have the opportunity to earn CLE credit.
