Studies at Nova Southeastern University has announced the recipients
of its 2006 Champions for Children Awards.
The institute will honor Dany and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson; The
Barry and Judy Silverman Foundation; Whole Foods Market;
and Marie and Ray Richardson at its
annual Snowflake Ball Luncheon at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 3, in the newly-constructed
University Center on NSU’s main campus. Recipients of the highly-regarded
Champions for Children Award are chosen for making important contributions
in the lives of children throughout South Florida.
Critically acclaimed author, Marti Leimbach will deliver

the master of ceremonies.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Mailman Segal Institute’s
programs for children with autism spectrum disorders. The institute

education, special education, family support, and parenting education.
