NSU, Cambridge Forge Cross-Atlantic Partnership
Agreement creates online opportunities for educators worldwide and joins Nova Southeastern University with the world-renowned University of Cambridge in education partnership

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – In a partnership that joins one of the world's most renowned institutions of higher education and the world leader in distance learning, the prestigious University of Cambridge has partnered with Nova Southeastern University (NSU) to provide educational opportunities to teachers and administrators to advance their careers, it was announced recently.

Under the agreement, educators on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean will be able to earn an NSU master's degree and a University of Cambridge International Diploma without leaving their homes.

In the first phase of the agreement, NSU will recognize two of the University of Cambridge International Examination Diplomas , allowing holders of the diplomas to pursue their master's degrees through NSU's Fischler School of Education and Human Services.

In the second phase, American educators pursuing degrees through NSU will have the unique opportunity to earn international diplomas from the University of Cambridge International Examinations .

“NSU views this as a very unique way to provide outstanding opportunities for American and European educators,” said William D. Alvarez, Ph D, Director of Strategic Alliances at the Fischler School of Education and Human Services.

NSU, the tenth-largest independent not-for-profit university in the United States , is a world leader in providing challenging graduate-level distance education in the fields of teacher education, educational leadership, instructional technology and human services leadership.

NSU will recognize the Diploma in Teaching with Information and Communications Technology and the Diploma for Teachers and Trainers.

The recognition allows holders who pursue graduate degrees from NSU to: Gain admission to the Master of Science in Education with a Specialization in Teaching and Learning program; be granted six credits towards the MS in Education degree; be exempt from either module EDU 640 (Teaching with ICT) or module EDU 641 (Teachers and Trainers) as they work toward their degree; and to qualify for a discounted rate for tuition.
