Free “Passport to Information” Event to Be Held At NSU’s Alvin Sherman Library March 13
Ft. Lauderdale (Davie), Fla. - Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center presents “Passport to Information Day,” an event dedicated to educating the community on how to access research databases for personal and professional use. The event, which is open to the public, will be held March 13 in the Alvin Sherman Library at 3100 Ray Ferrero Jr. Boulevard.
Between the hours of noon and 5 p.m., Broward County patrons can come to the Alvin Sherman Library and learn how to access free information that will assist them in obtaining employment information, pass a course, write a paper, take a wonderful vacation, research investment opportunities and much more. This one day event will offer demonstration on utilizing the hundreds of sources and documents provided by the library. Demonstrations will be provided by various database vendors including HW Wilson, Greenwood Publishers, IGI Global, Proquest, World Book Encyclopedia, Wiley-Blackwell and more.
The Alvin Sherman Library is a unique joint-use facility serving the residents of Broward County as well as NSU students, faculty, and staff members. Thanks to an agreement between the Broward County Board of County Commissioners and NSU, the Alvin Sherman Library offers traditional public library services as well as the full academic resources of one of the nation's largest private universities.
