Sistrunk Historical Festival and Parade

FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. -  Nova Southeastern University (NSU) nursing students will be providing free health screenings in celebration of Black History Month at the Sistrunk Historical Festival and Parade.

The students, who are a part of NSU’s College of Allied Health and Nursing, will provide the health screenings on Saturday, February 23 during the Sistrunk Historical Festival & Parade on Sistrunk Boulevard. The festival, named in honor of Dr. James Sistrunk, who was one of Broward County’s first black physicians, is the oldest African-American Festival in Broward County.

NSU students and health professionals will conduct a variety of free screenings such as developmental, postural, vascular and blood pressure readings from 11 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

For more information, please contact NSU associate professor Bini Litwin, Ph.D. PT, at 954-262-1662 or blitwin@nova.edu.
