The 2007 Broward County Walk Now for Autism Research Is On – Rain or Shine!

As April approaches, NSU observes Autism Awareness Month by serving as the host site for an event that plays a critical role in raising funds for scientific research and increasing awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The 2007 Broward County Walk Now for Autism will take place on Saturday, April 21st at Nova Southeastern University’s Davie Campus in front of the Alvin Sherman Library. Join thousands of individuals, families, friends and community members in taking steps toward finding the missing pieces in the cause and cure of Autism Spectrum Disorder. With only four weeks remaining, Broward County businesses, residents and schools are urged to get involved. Each and every walk participant, whether a co-chair, a committee member, a team captain, a walker or a donor, plays a critical role in the Walk Now for Autism Research by championing the cause to advance and accelerate autism research.

After the walk, take part in a full day of special events and activities for the whole family.

As only the second walk of its kind to be held in Broward County, NSU proudly hosts the event in partnership with Autism Speak and the National Alliance for Autism Research NAAR. Autism Speaks and the National Alliance for Autism Research (NAAR) recently combined operations, bringing together two of the leading organizations dedicated to accelerating and funding biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments and cure for autism spectrum disorders.

Last year, more than 2000 individuals walked the NSU campus grounds pledging more than $200,000 for autism research.

Check in time is 9 a.m.
Walk starts at 10 a.m.
