It's "Story Time" at
the Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center
April Brings Free Weekly Literacy Program to NSU's Main Campus
FORT LAUDERDALE - DAVIE— Nova Southeastern
University’s Public Library Services department of the Alvin Sherman
Library, Research, and Information Technology Center hosts a free weekly
literacy program during the month of April. The program offers parents
and children an opportunity to celebrate their own cultures and simultaneously
strengthen reading and English skills.
The program series includes a variety of activities designed to educate
and entertain children of all ages. To celebrate National Humor Month,
Youth Services Librarian, Rebecca Hickman, has chosen the theme “Something
Silly.” Special guest Spanish children's author Sergio Andricaín
will host a bilingual story time program on April 12. Participants of
all ages are encouraged to come together to enjoy these free activities
as well as learn a little Spanish or English. April programs are as follows:
Tuesday, April 5
7:00-7:45 p.m. All ages
Bilingual Family Story time: Stories and Songs in English
and Spanish/Cuentos y Canciones en Inglés y Español
Theme: Silly Stories
Celebrate National Humor Month with silly stories and songs. Featured
stories will include Jorge y Marta by James Marshall, and No
Tengo Sueño y No Quiero Irme a la Cama by Lauren Child. Mexican
cookies and tropical soft drinks will be served. For more information,

Sergio Andricaín is the author of La Caja de las Coplas,Cuentos
de Hadas de Hoy y Mañana, and many other Spanish language

Celebrate National Library Month with stories about the joy of reading.

Late Bloomer by Story time will be followed by the Family Literacy
University graduation ceremony.
