NSU’s Graduate School Of Humanities And Social Sciences Presents “From School Problems To Brief Therapy Solutions” Workshop

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL- The Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Nova Southeastern University is offering “From School Problems to Brief Therapy Solutions,” a workshop for therapists, at 6:00 p.m. on April 14 at the Alumni Hall Auditorium on NSU's East Campus, 3100 SW 9 th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale.

Presented by Monte Bobele, PhD, ABPP, the workshop will demonstrate the application of solution-focused therapy (SFT) with minority youth and their families. Dr. Bobele will cover standard SFT methods, as well as specific strategies for assisting participants with their own cases.

Therapists in many settings are called upon to deal with young people's difficulties at school. Frequently, these behavioral problems can be resolved quickly using brief therapy methods, such as solution-focused therapy. SFT methods, which focus on strengths and resources within the family, are especially appropriate in working with underserved minority client populations.

The cost to attend the workshop is $45 for professionals, and $25 for students. To register, please visit http://shss.nova.edu/events/. For more information about “From School Problems to Brief Therapy Solutions,” please contact Christine Hellkamp at (954) 262-3062, or at hellkamp@nsu.nova.edu.
