NSU's Public Interest Law Society To Host Charitable Auction Benefiting Public Interest Programs
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - The Public Interest Law Society Chapter (PILS) for Nova Southeastern University 's (NSU) Shepard Broad Law Center will host its 11 th Annual Public Interest Law Auction on Friday, March 19. A silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m., with a live auction beginning at 6:15 p.m. in the Law School 's Atrium, 3305 College Ave. , on NSU's main campus.
Some of the items available at the auction include an autographed Mike Lowell baseball, an autographed Pete Rose baseball card, and tickets to various professional sporting events. The list of valuable items continues to grow as the auction date approaches.
Monies raised at the auction will fund fellowships for students who dedicate their time working as legal interns for public interest organizations. Due to budget constraints, most organizations that assist the indigent and poor are understaffed and unable to compensate legal interns. Proceeds from the auction will enable law students to aid local organizations in providing quality legal services to those who would otherwise be unable to afford it.
Admission to the Public Interest Law Society Auction is free. Refreshments will be available, with musical entertainment to be provided by Caution Automatic. For more information on the auction, please call (954) 262-6126.
