Free Programs At Nsu Alvin Sherman Library, Research, And Information Technology Center
FORT LAUDERDALE , FL —Free programs for children, teens, and adults are offered each week at The Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center at Nova Southeastern University . The library is a joint-use facility with the Broward County Board of County Commissioners. Free card membership allows patrons access to public library collections
as well as exclusive university academic resources.

Exhibits
- (Through April 4) “Centuries of Commerce,” a collection of rare and beautifully illustrated manuscripts, books, documents, and other materials dating back to 1092 from Spain . - Wednesday, March 24: The Doctor's In. NSU Pediatrician and Caregiver Discussion, “Twenty Priorities to Improve Your Child's Life,” 10:30-11:00 a.m.
- Thursday, March 25: Family Storytime, all ages, 3:30-4:00 p.m. Special theme: ¡Viva España! In conjunction with library's “Centuries of Commerce” exhibit.
- Saturday, March 27: Hi-Tech Fun: “Lookin' for Lyrics,” shows how to find online free lyrics to your favorite songs, ages 8 and up (younger children welcome with adult), 3:00-3:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, March 30: Mother Goose Storytime: Infant to 35 months with caregiver, 10:30-10:50 a.m.
- Wednesday, March 31: Storytime Fun, ages 3-5, 10:00-10:30 a.m.
- Wednesday, March 31: Software Storytime, ages 3-5 with parent/caregiver, 10:30-11:00 a.m.
- Wednesday, March 31: Hi-Tech Fun: “NovaCat for Families,” shows how to find books in the library, ages 8-12, 4:00-5:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, March 23: Peace Place Presentation, “Restorative Justice Methods for Schools: Transforming Conflict and Discipline Incidents into Learning Outcomes,” by Janice Jary and Jo Anna Luiso, 4:30 p.m.

- Saturday, March 27: Recording Artist Jimmy Chapel performs all styles of music and comedy, 2:00 p.m.
- Friday-Sunday, March 26-28, “Raising Healthy Children.”
- Friday, March 26: A Day for Teachers. Nationally known keynote speaker, plus breakout sessions on suicide prevention, vision in the classroom, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), bullying, and more. Exhibits, free gift bags, and additional materials. Teachers will receive healthcare screenings and a healthy lunch. To register, call (954) 262-4340.
- Sunday, March 28: A Day for Children. Free screenings by health-care professionals, physicians, and dentists from NSU's Colleges of Dental Medicine, Pharmacy, Osteopathic Medicine, Optometry, and Allied Health and Nursing. In addition, professionals from NSU's Center for Psychological Studies, library services, speech-language, hearing and balance, and the Mailman Institute for Early Childhood Development are available for free consultations.
