NSU Will Host Marilyn Volker, Sex Therapist for Frank Discussion about Sex
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL—Students at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) will have the opportunity to discuss sex and sexual issues in an open and comfortable environment during the "Let's Talk About Sex," presentation facilitated by sex therapist Marilyn K. Volker, Ed.D., on Tuesday, February 11, from 7-8:30 p.m., in the NSU Library, Research, and Information Technology Center. NSU's Office of Recreation and Wellness is sponsoring the program, which is free and open to the public.
Volker, who has a doctorate degree from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality, will discuss several topics, including Safe Sexual Practices, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Behavioral and Cognitive Sex Therapy, Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, including rape and incest, and Understanding the Components of Sexual Identity, which includes gay/lesbian/bisexual orientation issues.
The purpose of the presentation is to educate students and increase their awareness about sexual issues, including different sexual orientations.
