FORT LAUDERDALE—Nova Southeastern University (NSU) as part of the Southeast Florida Career Consortium of Private Universities (SFCC), a joint coalition of career service professionals from NSU, Barry University, Lynn University, and St. Thomas University will host regional, national and international employers at the SFCC Career Expo 2002, on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at the Signature Grand, Davie. This year marks the sixth consecutive year the universities have executed the Career Expo.

Some of the major companies/organizations attending Career Expo 2003 include Rexall Sundown, Sysco, The Breakers, The Wackenhut Corp., the U.S. State Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Northwestern Mutual Financial.

Last year’s career expo drew more than 630 candidates from the four universities, and top recruiters from major organizations such as: Citrus Health Network, Southern Wine and Spirits, U.S. Department of State, FBI, Charter Schools USA, North Broward Hospital District, Spectrum Programs, SunTrust, Syncor International Corporation, Walgreens and more.

On a follow-up survey of last year’s 74 employer participants, 84 percent stated an interest in attending this year’s event. Employers also revealed satisfaction with “the professionalism of the event, and the quality of candidates.”

The SFCC creates an alliance among employers, students and alumni through cooperative career events, the exchange of ideas in the field of career services, and continual education regarding trends and information about the work environment.

Employers interested in participating in the SFCC Career Expo 2003 are encouraged to call the Office of Career Services at NSU at (954) 262-7201 or visit www.stu.edu/orgs.
