Journalist Bob Woodward to Speak at NSU
Event to Celebrate Renaming of Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences
FORT
LAUDERDALE, FL—Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Bob Woodward
will be the guest speaker at Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU)
Renaming Celebration for the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences,
at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, February 10 in the Rose and Alfred Miniaci
Performing Arts Center. This event, which is free and open to the public,
will celebrate the renaming of the Farquhar Center for Undergraduate
Studies to the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences.
Woodward, who was named one of the best investigative reporters in
America by the New York Times, is the assistant managing editor
for investigative news for the Washington Post. During the
early 1970’s, the Post teamed him with Carl Bernstein to investigate
the burglary at the Watergate office building during the Nixon administration.
Their efforts resulted in the Pulitzer Prize awarded for investigative
reporting.
Woodward, who will be signing his books after he speaks, is the only
contemporary American writer to author or co-author seven number one
best-selling non-fiction books. His most recent, Bush at War,
is the current #1 best selling book on the New York Times hardcover
non-fiction list. His other books include: All the President's Men and The Final Days, both co-authored by Bernstein; and The
Brethren: Inside the Supreme Court, co-authored by former staff
writer Scott Armstrong. Other books include Wired: The Short Life
and Fast Times of John Belushi, a book about comedian John Belushi
and drugs in Hollywood; Veil: The Secret Wars of the CIA; The
Commanders; The Man Who Would Be President: Dan Quayle;
and The Agenda: Inside The Clinton White House. In 1996, Woodward
gave us one of the first inside accounts of the presidential campaigns
of President Clinton and Senator Bob Dole in The Choice. Newsweek magazine has excerpted five of Woodward's books, including, The Choice. Three of his books have been made into movies.
Under the leadership of Norma M. Goonen, Ed.D., Dean of the Farquhar
College of Arts and Sciences, the college offers 15 undergraduate majors,
including dual admissions programs with NSU’s graduate schools.
More than 4,700 undergraduate students study in on-campus, off-campus,
and online formats. For more information about the Farquhar College
