NSU Expands Degree Offerings in Division of Humanities and Health Professions Division
Bachelor’s Degrees Now Offered in English and Health Science

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL— Nova Southeastern University is expanding its degree offering with two new programs. The College of Allied Health at NSU’s Health Professions Division is now offering an online bachelor’s degree program in health science (B.H.Sc.), while the Division of Humanities at NSU’s Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences has added English as a major or minor degree.

The English major/minor program provides students with a background in American, British and world literatures, literary theory, popular culture, rhetoric and composition. Students who major in English often decide to pursue careers in education, law, public relations, government or publishing. Courses in the program include Medicine and Literature, Law and Justice in Literature, the Literature of Detection and the King Arthur Legend in Literature. Courses for the English major/minor are available in both day and evening programs on NSU’s main campus.

The B.H.Sc. degree program is designed to provide degree completion and career advancement for entry-level health care practitioners. The program, which is offered entirely online, offers advancement curriculum for graduates of associate’s degree, diploma or certificate programs in the health sciences such as respiratory therapists, radiology technicians, military corpsmen, etc.

In addition to the Bachelor of Health Science (B.H.Sc.) program, the College of Allied Health offers programs in occupational therapy, physical therapy, and physician assistant studies, as well as audiology and the newly added nursing program (RN to BSN). The College also offers programs for practicing health care professionals in the distance education format, such as the Master of Medical Science Program (M.M.S.), the Ph.D. in physical therapy, the O.T.D. and Ph.D. in occupational therapy and the recent addition of the B.H.Sc., Doctor of Health Science (D.H.Sc.) and transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy (T-D.P.T.).
