Broward County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff’s Foundation Of Broward County And Nova Southeastern University Form Partnership
Ft. Lauderdale-Dave, FL. – On Friday, May 25th, Ray Ferrero Jr., President of Nova Southeastern University, Ken Jenne II, Sheriff of Broward County and Marta Prado, Chairperson of the Sheriff’s Foundation of Broward County, will formally sign agreements to cooperatively develop educational, research and service programs related to public safety.
The ceremonies will be held in the atrium of the Horvitz Administration Building on the campus of Nova Southeastern University at 3:00PM.
This agreement marks the first time the three entities come together to form such a significant alliance.
This venture will provide advanced leadership training for senior and supervisory public safety officers, access to NSU’s Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in criminal justice and shared resources in the development of training and research programs specifically related to meeting the needs of the criminal justice and public safety communities.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office is the largest fully accredited sheriff’s office in the United States. The Sheriff's Foundation of Broward County created by Sheriff Ken Jenne in 1999, promotes public safety through education, public awareness and charitable activities.
Nova Southeastern University is the largest independent institution of higher education in the Southeast, and it is the 6th largest independent institution nationally. In addition to programs in Criminal Justice, NSU awards associate's, bachelor's, master's, educational specialist, doctoral, and first-professional degrees in a wide range of fields.
