Athletic Training Major Earns National Accrediation
Ft. Lauderdale-Davie, FL. - The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences is pleased to announce that its’ Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) in the Division of Math, Science, and Technology has just received official national accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
This accreditation will enable graduates of the athletic training major to qualify as certified athletic trainers, on the condition that they pass the certification exam. The ATEP participates in many events on campus and in the local community, promoting injury prevention, management, and rehabilitation. Students completing the athletic training major gain specialized practical experience both in and out of the classroom.
Nova Southeastern University congratulates faculty members of the athletic training major for their achievement, including Elizabeth Swann, Ph.D., ATC, program director; Patricia McGinn, Ph.D., ATC, CSCS, assistant professor; and Steven Patterson, M.S., ATC, visiting professor. NSU also extends its gratitude to the athletic training students and clinical instructors for their hard work and support during this accreditation process.
