Fifth Annual NSU/FOMA Health
Fair at Tower Shops
FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, FL— Nova Southeastern
University’s Health Professions Division and the Florida Osteopathic
Medical Association (FOMA) have teamed up to hold their Fifth Annual
Health Fair, 10:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, at the
Tower Shops/Home Depot Plaza, Davie.
The Health Fair, which is open to the general
public, will feature free health checks and professional consultations,
including vision, dental, blood pressure, and diabetes screenings. Pharmacists
from NSU’s Pharmacy will be available to offer medication interaction
consultations. The fair will also feature experts in family medicine,
audiology, pediatrics, occupational therapy, public health, and geriatrics.
The Broward County Fire Department will be on
hand throughout the day to greet children, giving them a rare opportunity
to speak with real local heroes. NSU’s Aramark Dining Services
will be serving up a “Davie-style Barbecue” (cookout begins
at 11:30 a.m. and continues while supplies last), but before heading
over to eat, attendees can stop by the bloodmobile to donate blood for
patients at various local hospitals.
