Huizenga School Distinguished
Lecture Series Presents Magnate H. Wayne Huizenga and N. K. Tripathy of Macy's Florida
FORT LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla. — Nova Southeastern
University is proud to host community leaders and business magnates H.
Wayne Huizenga and N. K. “Trip” Tripathy as part of the Distinguished
Lecture Series at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship.
Scheduled for May 3 and May 11 in the Carl DeSantis
Building on NSU's main campus, the lectures are free and open to the
public.
The Distinguished Lecture Series was established
to inspire students by giving them a glimpse into the minds of successful
and outstanding entrepreneurs.
In separate lectures, Huizenga and Tripathy will
articulate lessons learned and provide insight into our often complex
business world. Students and the business community benefit from discussions
ranging from business ethics to the practical application of academic
theory.
Lectures are approximately 30 to 45 minutes in
length, followed by questions and answers.
At On Tuesday, May 3, 2005,
Mr. Tripathy will deliver a lecture entitled, “Perspectives on
the Changing Face of Retailing.” The lecture will be held at 10:45
a.m. in the Carl DeSantis Building, Julian and Ellen Knight Lecture Hall
(Room 1124).
Mr. Tripathy is president and chief operating
officer of Macy's Florida, a division of Federated Department Stores
Inc., which is based in Miami. Federated is one of the largest Department
Store retailers in the United States. The company, which operates under
the Macy's and Bloomingdale's brand names, reported 2004 sales of $15.6
billion.
On Wednesday, May 11, 2005, Mr.
Huizenga will deliver a lecture at 10:30 a.m. in the Carl DeSantis Building
Courtyard Atrium.
Mr. Huizenga is a member of the NSU Board of
Trustees, and is owner and chairman of Huizenga Holdings, Inc., a private
money management firm; owner of the National Football League's Miami
Dolphins and Dolphins Stadium; and the sole majority owner of several
service businesses and numerous real estate interests throughout Florida.
