NSU's Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences Hosts Inspirational Speaker Prem Rawat
Lecture Entitled, "Unlocking the Door to Inner Peace and Knowledge"
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL—The Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) at Nova Southeastern University is hosting Prem Rawat, a globally renowned inspirational speaker on Tuesday, April 22, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center in the NSU Library, Research and Information Technology Center. Admission to the lecture is $1.00.
Prem Rawat- also known as Mahariji -a title given to him in India where he began his work- has been invited to speak in every major continent and millions have come to listen to his lectures. He maintains that having a fulfilling life is actually a birthright, and offers a specific means to make this hope a reality. He calls it Knowledge, which he describes both as inner discipline and a state of being that can be experienced by anyone with sincere interest.
"What I offer to people is not just talk," he says, "but a way to go inside and savor the beauty that is within. I don't create the beauty. This Knowledge is not imagination. It does not come from ideas. It is within you. If it were not for the gift of Knowledge, a practical way to be able to connect with that feeling inside, all my words would be empty."
The Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences offers interdisciplinary programs in conflict analysis and resolution, family therapy, peace studies, college student personnel administration, health care conflict resolution, family systems health care, family studies, and joint programs with the Criminal Justice Institute and the Shepard Broad Law Center. The Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences is also a home of the two academic journals: "Peace and Conflict Studies," and "The Qualitative Report."
