Partners in Education, Inc. Executive Committee Announces ‘Clueless on Las Olas’ Murder Mystery

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL— The 2002-2003 Executive Committee of Partners In Education (PIE), Inc., announces its upcoming fund-raiser, ClueLess on Las Olas, scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 2003 from 7-9:30 p.m.

ClueLess on Las Olas is a unique event where participants solve an original murder mystery by deciphering clues found in shops on Las Olas. The pre-event program begins at 5:30 p.m. when the game players pick up their mystery and attend a street party on SW 9th Avenue and Las Olas, next to Mango's.

At 7p.m., players take to the street. At strategic locations around Las Olas, Snitches are on hand who, rumor has it, will sell valuable clues for a mere $1 a piece. The amateur sleuths gather again at the street party location at 9 p.m. to hear the final clue and decide “whodunit.” Grand prize is two round trip tickets on Southwest Airlines. Participants may also bid on fantastic Silent Auction from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

“The funds generated from this fun event are used by Partners In Education to further our mission of developing and nurturing educational partnerships between the businesses and community organizations and Broward's public schools,” said Dr. Ken Dosé, vice president of PIE, co-chair of ClueLess and director of Nova Southeastern University's Department of Undergraduate Education. “We have dramatically increased the programs and services that we offer to schools as a direct result of the success of this fundraiser.”

Some programs of those programs include Principal for a Day, Partnership Impact II mini-grants for teachers, conference/training scholarships for intern and assistant principals, and research into how community involvement is perceived in schools and by teachers.

Registration for ClueLess on Las Olas is $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Advance registration may take advantage of a buy three, get the fourth one free offer. Registration includes game participation, T-shirt, goody bag, merchant coupons, appetizer and dessert buffet and deejay. To register, call (954) 288-7201.
