Nova Southeastern University’s Oceanographic Center, National Coral Reef Institute Seeks Boat Donation
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL—Nova Southeastern University’s Oceanographic Center and the National Coral Reef Institute is looking for a suitable vessel or two - 30’ or larger, preferably with a cabin and twin diesels – to be donated for research and educational programs. NSUOC and NCRI are non-profit organizations dedicated to maintaining, understanding, conserving, and replenishing the world’s marine resources.
NSUOC was established in 1966 and is located on a 10-acre site at Port Everglades. In addition to providing high-quality graduate and undergraduate education in a broad range of marine science and related disciplines, the center serves as a community resource for information, education and research on oceanographic and environmental issues.
NCRI was established by Congressional mandate in 1998 and is based at NSUOC. The main goal of the institute is the protection and conservation of coral reefs world wide through research on reef restoration and monitoring programs.
Realizing top value for a vessel, a positive impact on a tax return, and immediate elimination of the expense of owning a boat are good reasons to donate, as is supporting and sustaining research and education that has local,--as well as global—benefits.
For more information, contact Daniela Sciarrotta, the center’s Director of Development, at (954) 262-2121.
