NSU Library, Research and Information Technology Center Hosts Weekly Event for Kids This Summer

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL— Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Library, Research, and Information Technology Center Free programs for children ages six months through 12 years will be presented at the five days a week for children ages six months through 12 years. The upcoming schedule includes:

  • Monday, June 23, Kids’ Club - Learn to juggle. Ages 8 to 12. Pre-registration required. 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 24, Culture Club - Stories and dragon masks. Ages 6 and up. 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 24, Bedtime Stories - Juggling for young children. Ages 3 and up. 7:00 – 7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 25, Storytime Fun - Stories and crafts. Ages 3 to 5. 10:00 – 10:30 a.m.; and Software Storytime for Ages 3 to 5 with caregiver. 10:30 – 11:00 a.m.
  • Friday, June 27, Freeplay: one-on-one play experience! Ages 6 months to 35 months with caregiver. Weekly registration required. 10:00 –11:00 a.m.
  • Saturday, June 28, Reptile World! Live exotic animal show. All ages. 2:00 – 2:45 p.m.
  • Monday, June 30, Kids’ Club - Papier-mâché craft. Ages 8 to 12. Pre-registration required. 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 1, Culture Club - Bilingual stories in Spanish and English and Rainstick craft. Ages 6 and up. 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 1, Bedtime Stories - Bilingual mermaid show with “La Sirena Susanna.” Ages 3 and up. 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 2, Hats off to Reading with Mama Clown and Tootsie the Clown. Bilingual performance in Spanish and English. All ages. 10:00 – 10:40 a.m.
  • Saturday, July 5, Family Fun and Games! All ages. 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
  • Monday, July 7, Kids’ Club - Ancient Egypt craft. Ages 8 to 12. Pre-registration required. 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 8, Culture Club - Ancient Egypt stories and craft. Ages 6 and up. 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

  • Saturday, August 9, “Hip-Hop Meets the West,” a musical show Puppet’s World. All ages. 2:00 – 2:30 p.m.

The NSU Library is a joint-use facility with the Broward County Board of County Commissioners. It is open to the public and offers wide-ranging collections of children’s picture and storybooks, bestsellers for adults and teens, audiotapes, videotapes, DVDs, and CDs. All Broward County residents can sign up for a free library card and use the general collections as well as the academic databases, books, journals, and reference materials in all media.

Pre-registration is required for some programs and events. Some programs feature bilingual presentations. Please register for programs two weeks in advance of program week. Call (954) 262-5477 for reservations and additional information.
