Nova Southeastern University's Circle of Friends Hosts Open House for South Florida Community Leaders
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL--As not-for-profit organizations across the country
face and compete for shrinking funding, Nova Southeastern University
offers a funding resource center open and available to local nonprofits.
On Wednesday, April 30, from 4-7 p.m., members of not-for-profit organizations
are invited to tour NSU's Library, Research, and Information Technology
Center, a joint-use facility with the Broward County Board of County
Commissioners. NSU's Circle of Friends-along with sponsors including
the Sun Sentinel, Comcast, Aramark Catering, C.A. & Company, and
Culinary Fusion-will host this open house for South Florida community
leaders.
Guests will learn about the numerous resources available to the non-profit
world through the Library, Research, and Information Technology Center.
The library building, the largest in Florida, is one of 220 cooperating
libraries affiliated with the Foundation Center, the nation's leading
authority on philanthropy.
Attendees will be able to tour the library, including the computer
lab, classrooms, conference rooms, and the 500-seat Rose and Alfred
Miniaci Performing Arts Center, facilities which are available to community
organizations. Guests will also meet the knowledgeable library staff
and learn about the wealth of information available to their organizations.
Information on fundraising, grant writing, managing non-profits, technology,
foundations, corporations, and government agencies can be easily accessed
through the library.
