Mr. Ferrero has served as President/CEO of Nova Southeastern University since January 1, 1998. Prior thereto, he served as a member of the Board of Trustees from 1984 to 1988, as Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 1988 to 1995, and as Vice-Chairman from 1995 to 1997.

He has also served as Chairman of the Finance Committee from 1995 to 1997. Prior to joining the University as President, he was a practicing trial attorney from 1960 through 1997. He received a B.B.A. degree from St. John's University, and a J.D. degree from the University of Florida.

He was President of The Florida Bar from 1987-1988, and the American Bar Association Florida State Delegate from 1989-1998.

He is also a member of the Broward County Bar Association and Broward County Trial Lawyers Association. In 1995, he was appointed by Governor of the State of Florida to serve as Chairman of the Committee of Inquiry &45; 15th Judicial Circuit Nominating Commission, to investigate alleged improprieties in the judicial nominating process, and is currently serving as a member of the Board of Governors of the Tower Club, National Conference for Community and Justice, Broward Workshop and Broward Alliance, and on the Board of Directors of the United Way. Mr. Ferrero has also lectured extensively through the United States to legal, business and civic groups.

Dr. Hanbury became the Executive Vice President/COO of NSU in 1998. Prior to his appointment as executive vice president, he had a career in municipal administration totaling more than thirty years, and was the chief executive officer (city manager), to the following cities: Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Portsmouth, Virginia, and Virginia Beach, Virginia. In addition, he was an Assistant City Manager in the cities of Norfolk, and Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Dr. Hanbury received his Ph.D. in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University. He also holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Old Dominion University, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Virginia Tech.

He has been certified through the Senior Executive Institute at the University of Virginia and inducted into Pi Alpha Alpha, the national honor society for the field of public affairs and public administration.

Dr. Hanbury has been recognized for his leadership by service organizations, city councils and commissions, and chambers of commerce across the nation and has been invited to lecture to national associations and groups because of his past experiences and motivational speeches. He has also been honored and awarded by:

Dr. De Piano is Vice-President for Academic Affairs at Nova Southeastern University. He has university-wide appointments.
Prior to his current appointment, Dr. De Piano served as Dean of the Center for Psychological Studies. He was elected for 2 years as the Chair of the University Council of Deans. He has served as Chief Editor of three referred journals as well as for a continuing book series.

Dr. De Piano teaches psychology related courses to students studying within the Health Professions Division; he also teaches graduate psychology courses in the areas of hypnosis, conceptualization and interviewing.

An expert in strategic planning and educational policy, Dr. Larry Calderon brings 33 years of experience beginning on America’s West Coast to southeastern Florida as the vice president for community and government relations at Nova Southeastern University, beginning his duties in December 2006. Previous to coming to NSU, Dr. Calderon served as President of Broward Community College.

Dr. Calderon began his higher education at Ventura College in Ventura, California. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara, he taught elementary school for two years in the Ventura Unified School District, in 1975 after receiving his Master in Education degree from the University of Southern California, he became Ventura College’s coordinator of student financial services.

He went on to serve six and a half years at Los Angeles City College, and after earning his doctorate from USC, served 10 years as a vice president at Oxnard College. In July 1995, he returned to Ventura College as its president. In addition to the presidency, he also served as the district’s vice chancellor for economic development.

A fellow of the National Community College Hispanic Council and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Dr. Calderon was awarded the 2003 Latino Town Hall Education Award for his efforts in establishing and expanding an East Campus for Ventura College in the city of Santa Paula.

Dr. Calderon and his wife Lila are parents of two children. Their daughter Melissa is a graduate of San Diego State University. Their son Michael is a student at Ventura College.

Frederick Lippman, B.Sc., R.Ph., Ed.D. is Chancellor of the Health Professions Division of Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Lippman serves as chief academic officer and reports directly to the President.

Dr. Lippman received his degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Columbia University College of Pharmacy and holds a doctorate in Higher Education Administration. A community pharmacist for over 20 years, he has been widely recognized by academic and health care societies and has held important leadership positions in professional organizations. Among his numerous awards and activities, he is the 1986 recipient of the American Pharmaceutical Association's Hubert H. Humphrey Award for Excellence in Pharmacy, a past President of the Broward County Pharmacists Association, and a former Speaker of the House of Delegates of the Florida Pharmacy Association.

He joined the College of Pharmacy in 1987 as Vice President for Pharmaceutical Affairs. In 1989, he was promoted to Vice President for External Affairs for Southeastern University of the Health Sciences.

Dr. Lippman had previously served as Chairman of the Health Professions Division Research Committee. Under his direction, a research laboratory was developed, core high-technology multi-user research equipment was acquired, and protocols and guidelines for research activity were drafted. This development of a research infrastructure resulted in a tremendous increase in basic research funding, research publication, and submitted grants. Students now participate in undergraduate research programs and present their research findings at regional and national conferences.

Dr. Lippman had been a member from 1978-1998 of the Florida House of Representatives whose district encompassed much of southern Broward County. Among his many honors, he was honored as "Outstanding Health Services Person of South Florida" in 1995 by the University's Institute of Health Policy and Administration, as "Child Advocate of the Year" in 1996 by the Florida Pediatric Society, and as "Outstanding Advocate" in 1997 by the Institute of Holocaust Documentation at Florida International University for his leadership in adopting Holocaust educational curricula in the state of Florida.

Dr. Lippman is known as the "Father" of the State of Florida's Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Program, a federally-funded program that works to improve the supply and distribution of primary care health providers in medically underserved rural and urban areas by creating partnerships with academic health centers. NSU-HPD's AHEC Program began in 1985 as Florida's pioneer AHEC Program.
