President's Faculty Research and Development Grant
As one of many means used to address the University's Mission Statement and specifically the issue on how the University "fosters inquiry, research, and creative professional activity," President Ray Ferrero, Jr. initiated the President's Faculty Scholarship Award Program in 1999 (now the President's Faculty Research and Development Grant). The Awards are designed to bring recognition and funding to the University's full-time faculty as they attempt to secure resources in support of research activities. The program is proactive in terms of providing impetus and direction toward research activities and in turn the program receives a considerable level of attention by the University's administration as a means of faculty support.
