Tips and Guidelines for a Video Taping Session

Visual Aids
Since the lecture will be prepped for an online format, the lecturer is encouraged to include audio visual aids similar to that of a live lecture. It is recommended that all visual aids should be submitted to the Innovation Zone either prior to the taping session or following the taping session so materials may be copied or digitized then returned in a timely manner.

  • 35 mm Slides - It is important to communicate the number of slides you plan on including in your online presentation. Prior to your arrival, the IZone will coordinate digitizing the slides. The time needed to complete this process will be dependent on the number of slides submitted.
  • PowerPoint - It is recommended that the PowerPoint files be submitted as either .ppt or .pps files using the Office 97 version or higher.
  • Digitized Graphics - It is recommended that digitized graphics submitted to the Innovation Zone should be a minimum of 72 dpi.

Wardrobe:

The instructor may wear attire that is comfortable and professional. It is suggested that the instructor not wear a white shirt or high-contrast color combinations (i.e. a white or off-white shirt with a dark jacket or dark tie). Pastels and dark colored shirts/tops are suggested. Wider stripes are recommended as opposed to shirts/tops with thin stripes- either horizontal or vertical. It is also suggested to not wear highly reflective jewelry such as solid gold or silver chains, necklaces and earrings.
