The Office of Innovation and Information Technology (OIIT) offers a wide variety of technological resources to support NSU's faculty and staff.

To start using NSU technologies you will first need to understand your online NSU Identity.

Technical Support
If you are having a technical issue with any NSU supplied hardware/software, please contact OIIT's Technical Support department at (954) 262-4900.

Email Account

NSU provides its faculty and staff with an email account. Your email account provides you access to your email, secure NSU sites, personal web site space, and access to numerous online tools and access to your online courses via WebCT. All official university mail communications will be sent to you via your NSU email account (Policy on Electronic Communications). Your account provides you with 20 MB of storage space.

WebSTAR

You can view your employee benefits, deductions, tax information, and paystub, as well as change your personal information. In addition, faculty can view their class schedule, check their class roster, enter grades, and email their students. You will also use WebSTAR to enroll for health benefits each year. If you are a new employee, visit NSU's benefits page regarding enrollment periods.

Internet Access

NSU offers faculty and staff wireless access to the Internet. To learn more about NSU's wireless access, please visit our Wireless Information Network and Global Services (WINGS) web site.

Faculty Support

Personal Web Space

You can create personal web pages using your NSU online account. Personal web pages must not conflict with NSU policies regarding Acceptable Use of Computing Resources and World Wide Web Pages. In order to begin you must first create your public web directory on NSU's server. After you "Create Your Web Space" you will be directed to our Web Basics page to learn how to start building your web site.

Online Learning Tools

NSU utilizes WebCT as it's main online learning solution. To get started on course creation and/or to learn more about WebCT, please contact OIIT's Innovation Zone (IZone). NSU also offers web boards, a comprehensive video library, copyright clearance services, and various web applications to support our faculty.

Staff Support

In addition to setting up a personal web page, email account, and a WebSTAR account, OIIT offers resources for web developers and/or Information Providers of official NSU web sites. Staff may also utilize various NSU web applications, online systems, and secure information web sites to help with their daily work activities. NSU offers a comprehensive digital library, an online calendaring system, and web site hit count reports/stats.

Personal computer discount pricing is available for faculty and staff through NSU. Free Software is also available for download for our faculty and staff.
