NSU WELCOMES ART EXHIBIT FROM ANN STORCK CENTER

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL— The Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center at Nova Southeastern University is proud to showcase the Ann Storck Center Art Exhibit on Tuesday, November 4- Sunday, November 16 in the Terry Atrium. The exhibit will move to the 4th floor on November 16, where it will hang from November 18 through January 4, 2004. The exhibit is free and open to the public for viewing during regular library hours.

The art exhibit is comprised of approximately 30 paintings, and drawings created by individual artists who participate in the Center’s award winning Expressive Arts / Fine Art Program. The Expressive Arts / Fine Art Program serves adults who present multiple and often very severe disabilities. Despite the presence of disabilities, these individuals demonstrate unique creative skills and perspectives within their fine art. The Center's art has been exhibited in showings from Long Beach, CA to New York City, and has won numerous awards and has been recognized in national venues.

The Ann Storck Center is a nationally accredited, highly acclaimed non-profit human service organization serving the needs of children and adults in South Florida who present severe and multiple developmental disabilities including Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, and Mental Retardation. The Center strives to discover and build upon the uniqueness and strengths of each person it serves in order to provide life-enriching experiences.
